About Chevahn

For Chevahn Brown, every great story begins - and survives - on the strength of its Characters.

Plots twist, worlds burn, timelines fracture, but it’s the people at the center - their contradictions, choices, and truths - that keep audiences leaning in.

That belief drives every part of her work. It shapes The Anatomy of a Character, her flagship course where writers learn to construct layered, unforgettable characters whose motivations create story, not the other way around.

This creative passion drove Chevahn to establish the The Write Story Studio, LLC, in 2021 - a creative hub where she activates stories through consultations, development work, and collaborative projects. As The Story Activator, she uncovers the heartbeat beneath the plot, finding the truths in character and narrative that make stories resonate, survive, and stay unforgettable. Whether she’s troubleshooting scripts for PocketFM, leading a workshop, or working one-on-one with a writer, her focus is always the same: when you find the human heartbeat, the story comes alive.

It’s also the force behind her own creative work. Her sharp, witty drama-thriller TV pilot, Kane, is a masterclass in character-driven tension - earning a Quarterfinalist spot in the Final Draft Big Break International Contest. Her first novel, Inside Out, self-published to a dedicated readership, follows a bullied teenager who develops a genetic mutation granting him superpowers, forcing him to decide: will he rise as a hero, or fall to his own darker impulses? For Chevahn, these aren’t just plots - they’re explorations of human choice under extraordinary pressure.

This character-first philosophy powers every class she teaches, from Emerson College and Boston University to The Metro-West Writers’ Guild and The Muse Writers’ Center, as well as summer creative writing camps, intensive workshops, private consultations, and even innovative creative journaling sessions.

Her Penguin Random House release in September 2025 is the first in a series of creative IP that will blend her years of teaching, consulting, and writing into tools and frameworks for storytellers worldwide. Alongside that, she’s developing a collection of dystopian short stories about the uneasy handshake between artificial intelligence and humanity - each one anchored, as always, by characters worth following to the very end.

Because for Chevahn, story is never about what happens.

It’s about who it happens to and why we can’t look away.

“Every story has a pulse - I help you hear it. I’m here for the sparks, the breakthroughs, the plot twists, and the thrill of uncovering the story you didn’t even know you were carrying.”
